Tonya Fingerhut

Lower Elementary Literature
Lower Elementary Writing Workshop

Mrs. Fingerhut joined the LitAOH team three years ago. Prior to that, she worked with 7th-12th grade students at Fingerhut Academy Homeschool and elementary students at Van Damme Academy, teaching topics from literature and writing to math and geology.

"Students, from elementary through high school, have always succeeded in surprising me with their understanding of the world. I love teaching writing because I am constantly rediscovering joys, both great and small, through the work of my students. Being a part of the LitAOH team means I have the opportunity to do meaningful work while exploring a new way of teaching writing. At Fingerhut Academy Homeschool, I worked with 7th-12th grade students in writing, literature, geology, and art appreciation. At Van Damme Academy, a private school, I taught elementary students math, grammar, literature, and writing."

(Please note, there are spoilers to the book in their discussion.)
