Literature At Our House teaches children to love literature.
While reading the best children’s novels and classics of world literature, students learn principles and techniques to help them to fully experience and clearly understand what the work has to offer. The discussions, tie-ins to history, connections to art and poetry, and fun writing assignments have one goal: help the students respond in a deeply meaningful and emotional way to the characters and stories – to make those characters and powerful moments last with them for the rest of their lives.

Learn more about the LitAOH approach in the two following videos.
The first is an "Open House" presentation on featuring answers to may FAQ's about our unique program; the second is a sample JH class.

FAQ's answered in the Open House video: "How do you pick out books?" (7:22)  "Why do you spend 10-15 classes on a single book?" (12:45)  "What is a class like for students?" (17:00)  "What do you do in the Writing Workshop?" (22:40)
A sample Junior High Class going through the novel, The Scarlet Pimpernel.
